- Profile
For millennia, the iconic shapes of the Glasshouse Mountains have captured imaginations. If you’ve always found yourself drawn to these dramatic peaks, an abseiling adventure is the perfect way to experience this incredible part of Queensland.
Located 60 minutes north of Brisbane, Mt Ngungun is a deservedly popular outdoor adventure destination. Here, you’ll meet your Pinnacle Guide in the morning for a quick lesson in abseil skills before heading up the trail. Warm up with a short, atmospheric abseil amongst the ferns before climbing to the summit ridge at 253m above sea level. Spectacular 360-degree vistas await, a stunning backdrop for your 40m descent from the rocky escarpment to the eucalypts below. What a rush!
This is a unique adventure in a unique location, one we think you’ll find quite hard to forget!
Our guides:
Our awesome guides are highly trained, fully accredited, and heaps of fun! They’ll teach you everything you need to know, as well as take care of the safety procedures and provide all the gear, including harness, helmet and all other technical equipment. What to bring:
Although your guide will provide all the safety gear, you’ll still need to bring a few bits and pieces, including:
– Non-restrictive clothing. Check the weather forecast to get an idea of the conditions, but remember that the summit is exposed and weather can change quickly, so a light jacket or wind jacket can be handy.
– Enclosed footwear such as hiking boots or runners, sturdy enough to handle a rough trail.
– A backpack big enough to carry all your gear plus some of the required safety equipment (e.g. ropes).
– 2-3 litres of water, hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses.
– Your own food and snacks, full of energy to keep you happy and psyched!Fitness Requirements:
You don’t need much fitness to abseil, but the hike to the summit of Mt Ngungun takes approximately 1 hour and covers some steep terrain and plenty of stairs. A moderate level of fitness is recommended. You don’t need any technical experience however, we will teach you everything you need to know for a safe and fun abseil! Why choose Team Pinnacle?
